[Dying hurt like a bitch.

That was the first coherent though Balthazar could come up with once he realized he was actually alive again and not…dead. He was so sure Castiel had killed him, but no, here he was. Waking up was almost as painful, of course, and his chest especially ached near his heart.

And his abdomen.

And, well, his everything.

The pain dulled as he moved, however, forcing himself up—he seemed to be in a Circus of sorts, however extremely run down looking.]

This is a predicament…

[He heaved a sigh, looking at the trailer he’d woken up by, to the cloudy sky, and then back at the landscape.]

Jeez, what kind of mess am I in now? At least this one looks like it might be fun.

I was hoping this ‘kind of mess’ that we’re in was of your doing, Balthazar.

[ Castiel was here, too. However he had no memories of him killing Balthazar. If anything, the most logical explanation would be that Castiel had not experienced this event just quite yet and he had been taken from a different point in time. This place he was in felt similarly to the place he had went to with Dean, Sam, and Bobby, when they were aiming to kill Eve with the phoenix ashes. …Castiel felt… annoyed. There were things that needed to be done. Things pertaining to Lovecraft. And this certainly wasn’t Purgatory. ]

But judging from your reaction… [ Castiel let out a small sigh. ] You’re just as perplexed as I am.
